Data Briefing – November 2024 to February 2025 Online Domestic Extremism in Canada

This briefing paper details analysis of Canadian domestic extremists’ online activity between November 2024 and February 2025. It is part of a multi-year study which will provide ongoing insight into Canadian domestic extremist activity through the ongoing delivery of analytical briefs.
This edition draws on over 400,000 posts from 545 extremist accounts across eight platforms, including X, Telegram, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. The report offers a detailed breakdown of account types, examines popular media sources, maps geographic patterns, analyzes levels of violent rhetoric, and highlights the narratives driving engagement over the time frame.
